In today’s climate of constant non-stop violence, oppression, continued lustful destruction of people and land for the singular goal of exploiting and profiting from our labour and bodies, Feela is searching for better ways to listen. As she learns what it means to truly listen, she begins understand the world she is encountering.
Media as entertainment serve as means of control and distraction, and it is just as much psychological warfare as it is an ideological one. Our ability to listen is largely eroded by all kinds of noise intruding in our daily environment. Listening requires embodiment and presence. Deep listening is a long and slow action.
This is the sonic documentary of a year-long project. Feela’s World embodies a practice of deep listening and a return to a personal, playful creative space after a lifetime of creative practice within shared spaces with other musicians and artists.
